Turkey Echoes Downsizing Nabucco Pipeline, Promotes TANAP
Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz has echoed the proposal of the Nabucco Consortium for downsizing the previously ambitious EU-sponsored gas transit pipeline project, Nabucco. Turkey's energy and natural resources minister said on Friday that it would not be appropriate to say that the Nabucco project was over, as cited by The Journal of Turkish Weekly. Taner Yildiz said the project would probably survive as "Nabucco West" - a smaller, shorter pipeline, widely thought likely to begin at the Bulgarian-Turkish border rather than in Azerbaijan. ...

Russian Opposition to Bring 'March of Millions' Closer to Kremlin
The Russian opposition wants its next "March of Millions" protest rally scheduled for the Day of Russia, June 12, to be held closer to the Kremlin in the Russian capital Moscow. Sergey Udaltsov, the leader of the Left Front opposition movement said in his Twitter on Friday, that the rally should be allowed to proceed from Tverskaya Zastava Square to Borovitskaya Square near the Kremlin on June 12. Udaltsov said the protest would be organized by the same people as the May 6 protest that ended in violence and clashes with police when the protesters tried to break the police lines and move the event closer to the Kremlin, something that had not been agreed with the city authorities. ...
